This is the latest version of John 'Admiral' Wallace, as you can see he is not longer naked and has his underlying clothes finished. In the final piece he will have an overcoat, but I thought that in order to maintain accurate sizes and to accommodate for the thickness of the underlying layers, it would be a good idea to draw them over the top.

John 'Admiral' Wallace
This is the latest version of John 'Admiral' Wallace, as you can see he is not longer naked and has his underlying clothes finished. In the final piece he will have an overcoat, but I thought that in order to maintain accurate sizes and to accommodate for the thickness of the underlying layers, it would be a good idea to draw them over the top.
Shading and highlights
This piece is attempting to make an accurate representation of shading and highlighting, I decided to swap the colours that could be commonly associated with both, ( the darker colour for the highlights and the lighter colour for the shading) and I am rather pleased with the outcome.
Leeds Armouries trip
I accompanied the group as we went to Leeds armouries in October, the trip was a pleasant one and there was plenty to see and do in the complex. Many of the displays were interesting and I came away more enlightened about the history of warfare that I was going in. I have included a few photos below that I believe were particularly relevant to my course work.
This is an assortment of naval weapons, such as the boarding spear and the cutlass.
This is from the same display and is yet more naval armaments. The most interesting is either the blunderbuss, (first on the right) and the six-barrel musket (third from the right).
This is again from the same display but this time focusing more on the pistols, displayed at the bottom.
This is an assortment of swords, ranging from small rapiers to large cutlasses.
This is a pair of duelling pistols.

Enhanced detail
This is a sketch depicting enchanced detail on the face, the Life model was filmed posing and we were instructed to draw the pose and what was projected, this made for an interesting contrast between detail shown from a far and close up. In this particular sketch I believe displayed accurate proportions, however the shading could be done with greater care.
